I recently took a trip east to Angola, New York to attend a funeral for my dad's older brother, Mike. The ceremony was amazing with tribute being made by a wide variety of people. The unique groups in attendance included government, emergency services, Native Americans, bikers, and Vietnam veterans. As testament to his community involvement, the local news came out and did a piece on his life and death. Pictures of both the funeral and the town of Angola (where my Dad grew up) can be found here. My brother blogged about the experience here. And a friend of the family who drove from Muncie with other family friends blogged his thoughts here.
